Lee Stephen Mead (born 1981) in Southend on Sea is a British musical theatre actor, best known for his appearance in the BBC series Any Dream Will Do in 2007.
Lee attended the Whitehall Performing Arts College in Essex, on a three year musical theatre course. His first job was in 2002 on a P&O cruise ship where he sang and danced.
His first professional job was in a touring production of Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, playing Pharaoh and Brother Levi. He also performed in the West End version to fill in for the Pharoah twice.
He has performed in the ensemble of Phantom of the Opera (in which he also understudied the part of Raoul), Tommy and in the ensemble of Miss Saigon (in which he also understudied the part of Chris).
He has toured with Abigail's Party playing the role of Laurence and had a small part in the BBC drama Murder in Mind. He also danced in Geri Halliwell's "It's Raining Men" video.
Other theatre work includes singer/dancer in My Pal Frank, the life story of Frank Sinatra (Palace Theatre, Westcliff); the principal role of The Captain in the ballet Pineapple Poll (Civic Theatre, Chelmsford); the role of Wishee Washee in Aladdin (Spa Theatre, Bridlington); lead vocalist for the summer season 2003 at the Spa Theatre, Bridlington; and lead vocalist for Potters Theatre Company, Potters Leisure Resort Norfolk.
In 2007 Mead took part in the BBC reality show Any Dream Will Do.
On the May 26th episode of Any Dream Will Do he was selected by singer Josh Groban to perform a duet of "You Raise Me Up" live on the results show.
As of May 27th he is in the final four and is considered to be the bookmakers' favourite to win the competition.
Lee WON the competition and is currently playing Joseph in the West End 2007 production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!!
